Connect 3 is St Mark’s small group ministry. Community service is a HUGE focus in these groups. Mobilizing in small, manageable teams makes us far more effective as a larger congregation and church in the community. Each small group gets to choose their area of interest and passion in serving the community. You can do everything from community clean up and assisting with service organizations already in existence, to something more simple and “indoorzy” if that’s your group’s prerogative.
Our hearts are broken and cry out in prayer to God for those in our community that have been devastated by the recent flooding in Nebraska and Iowa. St Mark has been and will continue to be there to comfort and help those in need. Our current outreach and flood relief efforts include:
+Donations of needed items +Clean up efforts +Volunteering for Salvation Army distribution centers
+Serving individuals who call on us +Regular prayer and comfort ministry +And more…
To volunteer in with our flood relief efforts or notify us of additional needs we may be able to help with, please contact our Administrative Assistant Torri Merten.
St Mark is proud to annually participate in Operation Christmas child. Out congregation generously prepares hundreds of gift boxes, complete with a Gospel proclamation of varying kinds, to be shipped around the word to the “least of these” children that Jesus loves so very much.
The world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, Operation Christmas Child, uses gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Individuals, families, churches and groups fill empty shoeboxes with a “wow” item—like a doll or soccer ball—and other fun toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and notes of encouragement.
More than 7.4 million children have participated in The Greatest Journey, Operation Christmas Child’s follow-up program that is offered to many children who receive shoebox gifts. The Greatest Journey is implemented through a global church network to help children learn how to know and follow Jesus.
See what an impact this ministry is having!
