Connecting People to Jesus

A love worth sharing

Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ. -Romans 10:17

We are a congregation of believers committed to sharing the message of Christ and guiding others towards faith in Him.  As a church, we aim to love those in our community with the same love Christ has given to us. The work of our church is aimed at directing others towards the Savior in the hopes that they will encounter the one true God and be transformed by His gracious love for them. Through all we do, say, and preach, we pray that we will shine the light of Christ to all those we encounter.

our mission

“To be connected with and connect people to Jesus.”

It is our belief that the church exists for one, and only one purpose; to proclaim the Good News of God’s salvation that is found in Jesus Christ alone and to teach His truth found alone in Holy Scripture (the Bible).  This is not “our” mission at St Mark, it is the mission given to us by our Lord Jesus Himself.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” – Matthew 28:28-20

We are a community of people who, by grace though faith in Jesus Christ, have been changed by the love and forgiveness of God.  We desire nothing more than to share His love with others and witness the transformational power of God in our community through the knowledge of the truth.  Everything we do here at St Mark is done to grow in God’s Word and in the knowledge of His love, as well as to serve as ambassadors of God’s reconciliation through our witness of Jesus Christ. Following the model of Jesus, it’s the heart of our church to love those around us by meeting their needs, sharing our lives, and offering them the life-changing grace of the Christian faith. We believe that it is the Gospel of Christ that truly changes people, and those people are the ones who change the world. We would love to welcome you into our community and walk alongside you to serve those around us in the name of Jesus.

It is not possible to know the truth of God’s love in Jesus and not be changed.  Faith in Christ compels action.

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. – James 2:14-17

Regardless of whether or not our message is heard, we have been called and commanded by our Lord to love our neighbor and even our enemies.  If we have no other voice then what our acts of love articulate, we seek to use every opportunity to testify of God’s love by the way we serve others.  Our faith inspires our work, and it is our prayer that our life of serving others would lay the foundations for new relationships, life-changing conversations, and ultimately, salvation in Christ for those in our community.
