Connect 3 is St Mark’s small group ministry. Community service is a HUGE focus in these groups. Mobilizing in small, manageable teams makes us far more effective as a larger congregation and church in the community. Each small group gets to choose their area of interest and passion in serving the community. You can do everything from community clean up and assisting with service organizations already in existence, to something more simple and “indoorzy” if that’s your group’s prerogative.
IMMPACT will serve the community of Omaha through social programs that help assimilate immigrant families into American society and witness the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When you invest yourself in caring for strangers, you participate in the heart and ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ. There are not special qualifications, only a humble heart and a love for all of God’s people.
ECHO is our new Multi-Campus College Outreach Ministry. We have lots of happenings planned for our first year and will begin sharing details very soon! Check out the ECHO website here.
St Mark is proud to annually participate in Operation Christmas child. Out congregation generously prepares hundreds of gift boxes, complete with a Gospel proclamation of varying kinds, to be shipped around the word to the “least of these” children that Jesus loves so very much.
The world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, Operation Christmas Child, uses gift-filled shoeboxes to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Individuals, families, churches and groups fill empty shoeboxes with a “wow” item—like a doll or soccer ball—and other fun toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and notes of encouragement.
More than 7.4 million children have participated in The Greatest Journey, Operation Christmas Child’s follow-up program that is offered to many children who receive shoebox gifts. The Greatest Journey is implemented through a global church network to help children learn how to know and follow Jesus.
