Identity is important, especially in our society and culture that is not only confused about true identity, but is increasingly hostile to anyone with the conviction that identity is given to us by God. Our youth today are bombarded by celebrities, politicians and marketing firms who spend billions and countless hours trying to make our youth question who they are so that those same entities can then tell them who they should be. What you believe matters. Who you are and the impact your life will have is directly influenced by what you believe about yourself and God. Our youth ministries are focused on celebrating and securing our youth in the Truth of God’s Word that says they are a child of God, bought with the blood of Jesus, and that now because their life is in the mighty hands of our loving God, they have true identity, true purpose and real meaning in life. Both our high school and middle school programs offer a great group of friends who have a blast enjoying life and laying a firm foundation of faith in Jesus on which they will build a life of success.
St Mark provides a safe and exciting place for middle school youth to connect and engage with community, get answers to their questions about the Christian faith, and most importantly, experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. Our activities and curriculum focus on the whole person: physical, psychological, cognitive, relational, and spiritual health. Mentorship is a huge focus of our youth ministry, and our middle school youth are regularly engaged with our high school youth for encouragement and inspiration. Our staff and lay leadership love engaging our middle school youth and strive to be involved in their lives in a meaningful and impactful way.
Our high school youth group is all about being LITT! Living In the Truth. We believe high schoolers are young adults who absolutely want to have fun and enjoy life, but who are also very much interested in finding purpose and meaning in their life. Everyone wants to belong, and that is never more true than in high school. The St Mark high school ministry program and curriculum focus on getting our youth LITT for Jesus and connected to friends to confide in, identify with and experience the love of Jesus.

In Confirmation our students are rooted and established firmly in the Christian faith over the course of 3 years and in a 3 step process. First they EXPERIENCE their faith. There is so much beauty and excitement in Christianity and in the Bible. Enjoying that faith and becoming familiar with the story of God’s love for us is our first step in confirming the faith. Second, students CONNECT with their faith on a personal level, being led to understand the reality of our living Lord Jesus and the absolute truth of Scripture. Finally, in their last year of confirmation, students RESPOND to what they have learned by understanding what it means to confess the faith they have; not only with their voices but with their lives offered as a living sacrifice to God.
All of our classes utilize creative curriculums, but the sole basis and texts from which we teach are the Bible and Luther’s Small Catechism.
Classes begin in the fall, usually towards the end of August or very beginning of September, and meet from 6:30 – 7:45 every Wednesday evening. Parent involvement is a must if confirmation is going to have its full effect, and we are passionate about involving parents in confirmation.
If you are interested in enrolling your child into confirmation class, please contact us as soon as possible to ensure your seat!
