This past week the Design Team met with the Center for Liturgical Arts and began working on designing furnishings for the Chancel. This would include the cross, ambo (pulpit/lectern combination), baptismal font, altar and communion rail. As information is available on the designs, we will share pictures with you.
In addition, a team of St Mark audio visual users interviewed three AV firms that will help us choose the proper sound and AV equipment to use in the sanctuary. The firms interviewed were: Midwest Sound & Lighting; AVI Systems; Diversified Design Systems (phone interview). Based on the three interviews, the team unanimously agreed that Midwest Sound and Lighting would be the best firm for our project. In addition to the knowledge and experience Midwest offers, they have also worked with BVH on other projects (i.e. Westside Church; St. John Bennington) that are similar to ours.
Next Thursday, March 16, the Renovation Committee is scheduled to meet with BVH and Lueder Construction to review the initial project budget. This information will allow us to work with LCEF to secure our construction loan. We are planning to hold a congregation meeting on April 2nd to review the details of the estimated costs. Please look for an announcement on that meeting very soon.
